There is a fun little website called Proust that helps you build your own autobiography by asking interesting questions and letting you answer, add pictures and share with friends. I thought it would be a fun thing to take some of those questions and answer them with you here from time to time. This is the second installation that project, (click here for the first.)
What was your favorite TV show growing up?
Although I grew up on a 200 acre horse farm, I watched my share of TV as a kid. I have always been romance obsessed really so a lot of my favorites had a romantic thread to them, at least in my own little mind. I really liked Scooby Doo but mostly because I was waiting for Daphne and Fred to get together. I loved Voltron but again, I think I was mostly interested in the sexual tension between the pink lion and the rest of the team. The episode that stayed with me the most was the one where she was swimming with the boys and accidentally lost her top. That one gave me some rather odd feelings in my stomach.
But my favorites were the old TV sitcoms from the 60′s and 70′s that got replayed in the afternoons. Gomer Pyle, Gilligan’s Island, and I Dream of Jeannie were three that I remember watching the most. Gillian’s Island was great because I had kind of a crush on the professor and I really identified with Mary Ann. I was always so frustrated when Ginger would end up getting in her way or worse, the episodes when the Professor and Ginger would hook up. I Dream of Jeannie was my favorite because it had all of my favorite elements; fantasy, romance, and pretty costumes. I very much doubt that the show would still hold my attention. I don’t remember the character development being or writing being all that great and let’s face it, a TV show about a sexy magical genie that grants a man’s every wish just isn’t going to go anywhere at makes the least bit of sense unless it’s only available on the adult channels.
