Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, I’m very pleased to welcome you to the amazing episode #14 of the Charlie Tonic Hour. What makes it so amazing? We’ve gone “road show” this week. Listen along as Ginny Tonic and Charlie record while driving 69+ mph down the highway. Restarting a running tradition for Charlie, the road show continues as the two look back on Gem City Comic Con. That conversation leads to them hunting down a friend for an interview about women in comics and they wrap it all up with a very, very fine bourbon. All this plus the Pixies featured this week. What more could you want from a show?

Documentary Mentioned During the show
I simply must try some Angels Envy! It sounds wonderful. Like Charlie I have you, Ginny, to thank for my love of bourbon. YOu neglected to mention that in addition to the libations you enjoyed at my house I plied you with The Kraken’s Delight off and on throughout the party. So it seems I must own up to my contributing to your state. Mea Culpa!
Sebastian (aka my Hubby) and I rather enjoyed having you all over. You made it a memorable weekend for all of us!
Charlie: Bwa ha ha that it rained and how dare you cheat on me and do road show podcasts without me! Keep this up and I’ll just have to start doing my own…by…myself…alone in the car *sob*
Ginny: I am personally offended that you no longer listen to the Related Recap! (kidding…but only a little.)
Kristen: Your portion was fascinating. Get in touch with me…I’d like to talk to you about more writing if you are interested.
Good show, informative and fun as always.
I do listen to the related recap still, it’s just that you guys don’t make veiled references to me constantly so it’s lost some of the urgency
Well if that is all it takes, I’ll “veil away” on our next episode.
Oi! Great show as always….
@Charlie: Was wondering if you had been around in the Cincy area about 9 years ago and got to see Frank Black (with another band, but who cares) at Bogarts. I had never gotten to see The Pixies at a show before that,to my dismay, but had been a huge fan since sophmore year in highschool. So I went to this show, and was completely delighted to find out that they were also playing Pixies songs amonst the absolutely horrid stuff of this band he was in. To here ‘Where is My Mind’ live was so mind blowing that I openly wept, but so did a lot of others. That and it was a packed house and I was 8 1/2 months pregnant :p
Cheers….
I wasn’t at that show, but I can only imagine how amazing that had to be. Hearing them in their prime (as I mentioned) is still something I look back on with a massive smile.
